Our Mission

Samantha's Learn to Swim (SLS) started in my small community to share my experience and expertise in swim instructing.  I also made it part of my mission to include people who have autism. My psychology degree and expertise in this field (ASD), contribute to my execution of teaching swimming lessons to this sector of people.

Our expansion began through word-of-mouth and now encompasses an ever-growing pool of developing swimmers.  The quality of instruction and the personal connection that SLS provide to its swim students and parents are above standard.  The human touch of a small business, including: small class sizes, experienced swim instructors (>6+ years), and beautiful outdoor space, is what truly separates that from franchise swim schools.

We look forward to seeing all of you this summer.

Teaching Method

Samantha's Learn to Swim (SLS) is a space of exceptional opportunity, one which pushes the boundaries of traditional swim lessons. We execute a teaching method using the 4 S's-  Streamlining, Sculling, Strength and Skills, so that the learning process works with the natural talents and instincts of the human body, rather than following a "me say, you do" teaching atmosphere. Within the structure of this teaching style, our instructors incorporate direction, drills and techniques, and never compromise the safety of the swimmer.  Our swimming lessons foster self discovery with in the swimmers' own talents, and prepares the swimmer for long term success.

SLS is a space where students are collaborators in their own learning; here we work together toward a common goal. We feel it fosters self-discovery and confidence, and is a great place for them to explore how the water should feel during their swimming. My team and I encourage long-term potential, so that they can grow their techniques as self-aware swimmers.

Client testimonials

My daughter has been diagnosed with ASD. We tried to sign her up for swimming classes but was told that children on the spectrum is not being accepted. One day, by chance, we happened to see Samantha's Facebook page. We decided to give it a try. Initially, my daughter was very afraid. Samantha was patient and treated my daughter with dignity. Eventually, my daughter opened up like a blooming flower in the spring sun. She is smiling and enjoying her swimming lesson whenever she is with Samantha. We are so proud of the progress my daughter is making. Thank you Samantha. We will be back next season. PC & AS, Summer 2023
